Best Cooking Classes in Barcelona

Check out these awesome cooking classes – the perfect experience for solo travelers to make friends, families to create memories, or couples to share a romantic evening out!

1. La Boqueria Market and Paella Cooking Class in Barcelona

Rating ⭐ 5 stars | Length 4 hours | Book now  – my #1 recommendation!!

people gathered around a table at a barcelona cooking class

La Boqueria Market is hands down one of my favorite places to visit in all of Barcelona. If you’re looking for an immersive and unforgettable night out, the La Boqueria Market and Paella Cooking Class is the way to go.

Trust me, visiting with a professional chef takes the magic to a whole other level. The 12-course tapas menu you’ll make is an authentic (and delicious) way to experience Barcelona’s vibrant food scene.

I believe tapas are a more culturally appropriate way to experience Barcelona than a basic Paella class, so I wholeheartedly recommend this one.

Even better, unlimited drinks are included. Not to mention, the chef is an expert in Catalan cuisine. All in all, I have nothing bad to say about this experience – it’s the first and best one on this list for a reason.

2. Paella Barcelona: Market Visit, Tapas, Sangria and Paella Class

Rating ⭐ 5 stars | Length 3 hours | Book now

large bowl of shareable Spanish paella

If you’re looking for a unique and hands-on cooking experience in Barcelona, you won’t want to miss the Market Visit, Tapas, Sangria, and Paella Class. This class starts with a visit to La Boqueria market, where you’ll learn how to shop for classic Spanish cuisine ingredients like a local.

My favorite part? Your chef will send you home with the recipes so you can continue the magic in your own kitchen.

But the real highlight of the night is the class itself. Hugo, one of the hosts, is a riot and will keep you entertained all night long.

While the kitchen may be a bit small, you’ll hardly notice as you make friends and cozy up next to one another. Plus, did I mention the sangria? This class has it all – great food, great company, and a taste of local culture.

3. Paella Cooking Experience with Professional Chef: Four-Course Dinner

Rating ⭐ 5 stars | Length 2.5 hours | Book now

assorted tapas laid out on a table

Not only do we get to cook up classic Spanish dishes, but we also get to enjoy a mix of tapas and paella – there’s something for everyone! And one of those tapas dishes, pan con tomate, just so happens to be one of my favorites!

Learning from an award-winning chef is an experience like no other.

The class size is maxed out at 16, which is quite large for a cooking class, in my opinion. If you prefer a more intimate setting, I’d recommend choosing a smaller class from this list.

Overall, if you love cooking and want to indulge in a delicious Spanish dinner, this class is an absolute must-try!

    5. Wine Tasting Tour & Paella Cooking Class in Sitges.

    Rating ⭐ 5 stars | Length 4.5 hours | Book now

photo of sitges coast in barcelona at sunset

Sitges - the stunning coastal town of your dreams...and my favorite place to get paella in Barcelona, next to Valencia, of course (the birthplace of Paella!).

And because of that - this is the best Paella cooking class on the list! And a great twist on the other options on this list, you also get to visit a wine museum and vineyard.

If you ask me, there's no better pre-dinner snack in Barcelona than wine tastings and cheese! After a day out, and learning a ton about Sitges, you'll head back to the chef's kitchen to devour some incredible paella, tapas, and desserts. Travelers love learning the secrets to making the perfect paella dish!

PS - Sitges is an easy day trip from Barcelona. It’s also one of my favorite coastal towns. I visit frequently since it’s a short train ride away.

Even if you don’t end up choosing this particular class, you should absolutely clear a day to spend strolling around Sitges.

    9. Paella class overviewing Las Ramblas & Boqueria Market at Barcelona Cooking

    Rating ⭐ 5 stars | Length 4 hours | Book now

    oysters on a table

If I’m being honest, I personally think Las Ramblas is totally overrated. But, if you want to spend an evening around Barcelona at one of the most popular tourist streets, except for Sagrada, in Barcelona, this is a great way to do it!

This class includes wine, three starter tapas, paella, and a Catalan dessert. Catalan culture is sometimes missed if you don’t know to look for it. Barcelona is located in Catalonia, and often, Catalan cuisine, cooking, language, and culture vary from Spanish.

Like other classes, the market doesn’t sell fish on certain days of the week. If you want a classic seafood paella, be sure NOT to take a cooking class on Monday!
